Newlyn opened the scoring just after the half hour mark when their domination produced the goal their play deserved with Jackson Rochford stooping to head home from close range. The Saints doubled their advantage just 6 minutes later when a fine move down the left saw Harry Mugford burst in to te penalty area to smash home a left foot strike past the goalkeeper before he could react.
Newquay surprised Newlyn with a few minutes of the second half when a hopeful long clearance saw the ball land between Newlyn's keeper Prentice and his defender for a Newquay striker to react quickest and lob the stranded Prentice to reduce the arrears. This stirred the home side in to life and they enjoyed a period of possession without really troubling the Newlyn defence further.
Newlyn put the game firmly out of reach of the home side with goals from Owen London and the goal of the game at the end from Dan Woodgate who fired home from close range following a superb sweeping move from the Saints that tore Newquay apart.
