Supersub Lee Gallagher came off the bench to ensure Newlyn left Bodieve Park with all three points and keep them in touch with the league leaders.
In a game tat was very even a youthful Wadebridge side played neat and tidy football from the start but lacked a cutting edge in attack that afforded Newlyn's defence a relatively uneventful afternoon. The only real action in front of goal saw both sides have looping headers cleared off the line although Prentice in goal for Newlyn had to be alert to race off his line to make a smart block.
Gallagher was introduced with thirty minutes remaining and his hold up play was soon giving the Wadebridge defence a headache. With just 15 minutes remaining he danced around three defenders before firing a low shot across the goalkeeper and in to the far corner for the games only goal.
Newlyn were able to see out the remaining time without incident as they continue to hold their position near the top of the division.
