Newlyn continued their unbeaten home league form this season with a hard fought win over an improving Wadebridge Town Reserves.
The home side were quickly off the mark when Own London calmly opened the Saints scoring with a neat finish after a fine through ball on 3 minutes. However if Newlyn thought it was going to be an easy day for them they were very quickly brought back down to earth as Wadebridge scored two goals to go in ahead at the interval - the first from a long through ball that Newlyn felt resulted in a foul on Stand-in keeper Jordan Cole in their goal but the referee chose to ignore allowing Halpin the simplest of tap ins to an empty goal, and the second a good speculative strike from distance.
Harsh words from managers and team sparked Newlyn into life and they dominated the second half scoring 4 goals without reply thanks in the main to a resolute defensive performance from Turpie and Emery at the heart of the defence. Sam Lawrence equalised at the far post on 52 minutes before Ross London scored his customary goal from the penalty spot to restore Newlyn's lead.
A second goal from Owen London on 80 minutes and another from the hard working Lawrence three minutes from time were more than enough to secure Newlyn another 3 points at home.
