Newlyn finally found their scoring boots in this “ding-dong” cup encounter at Cargoll Road. Despite falling behind three times in the game Newlyn always found a way to come back and deserved their win at the final whistle. Russell Brooker scored Newlyn’s first from a free kick after Foxhole had opened the scoring before Jake Watson added The Saints second. Foxhole fought back and scored two more goals before half time to see them ahead at the break but only just as Ross London saw his late penalty just before the interval sail over the crossbar.

Ross London brought Newlyn level again in the second half before the visitors scored what they thought was a late winner with just under ten minutes remaining. Newlyn were not to be denied and goals from Elliot Smith and a last minute winner from Ross London sent the Saints and Cargoll Road into jubilant celebrations.
